Right in the Brömsebäcken stream the peace between Denmark and Sweden was signed in 1645. The result was that Sweden received Jämtland, Härjedalen, Gotland, Halland and The Estonian Island of Saaremaa from Denmark - and became a significantly larger country.

The monument was erected during World War I in 1915. Already in 1050, the area was place for bargains. Then the Swedish King Edmund and the old Danish king Sven Estridsson had a meeting, later named Danaholm's meeting, this meeting sat the boundaries between the two kingdoms and marked with six large stones. One of these is said to be a three meter high stone at Bröms, just north of the stream. In connection with the peace stone is a beautiful bike and walking path.
