Tullahängen was in the 1600s a duty station that marked the border between Sweden and Denmark. The area has been cleared and fenced in with old fence. There is also a barbeque available.
When Gustav Vasa ruled during the early 1500s, he was in great need of money. He then introduced a variety of taxes that mainly affected the peasantry. A tax that especially angered the people of southeastern Småland was customs fee for livestock sales, which for decades had been conducted mainly to Ronneby. Right next to Tullahängen is a beautiful bike and walking path.
